The application campaign of the II International Film Festival for Children and Youth “Hero” is now over

We have finished accepting applications for participation in the II International Film Festival for Children and Youth “Hero” on 20 February! This year we managed to set a record. The organizers of the Film Festival accepted and processed more than 1760 applications from 112 countries of the world!

The countries that have sent the largest number of applications for participation in “Hero” are Brazil, Great Britain, Germany, Egypt, Kazakhstan, China, India, Iran, Spain, Italy, Russia, the United States of America, France, Sweden and even the African state of Togo. Most of the applications are professional feature, animation and documentary films for children and youth audiences and/or films about children, which convey their view of life.

Now the expert selection board is getting down to work! Over the next three weeks, until March 15, they will have to watch the submitted films and choose the best ones. The films selected by the members of the selection board will make up the final shortlist of the competitive and non-competitive Festival programs. During the days of the Festival from May 19 to May 23, these films will be presented to the audience on big screens in following cities and towns: Krasnoyarsk, Divnogorsk, Norilsk, Aban and Uzhur (Krasnoyarsk region, Russia).

II International Film Festival for Children and Youth “Hero” is the only one professional international competition for children and youth in Russia from Eastern Siberia to Sakhalin. The founder is the Ministry of Culture of the Krasnoyarsk region, the organizer is Krasnoyarsk State Autonomous Cultural Organization Enisey Kino. The festival takes place once in two years in the Krasnoyarsk region. The President of the festival is Vladimir Grammatikov, Honored Artist of Russia, film director, screenwriter, Disney Company creative producer. The Chairman of the Jury is Vladimir Alennikov, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, film director, screenwriter, writer, and producer.

In 2022, the Jury will also include foreign experts, and the program will include both Russian and foreign films. Creative meetings, workshops, lectures, educational laboratories, round tables and forums will be held during the Film Festival.

There will be special screenings of “Echo of the Festival” after the completion of the main program. You will be able to watch selected films at cinemas and town halls in the Krasnoyarsk region from May 24 to June 30, 2022.
