The II International Film Festival for Children and Youth “Hero”: selection board has completed viewing films for participation in the Festival

There are only two months left before the start of the II International Film Festival for Children and Youth “Hero”. Now we are actively working on its preparation!
We have finished accepting applications for participation with record highs on 20 February. More than 1,760 films from 112 countries were sent to participate in the festival!.

Expert selection board was watching films for three weeks and chose the best ones. The expert selection board includes:

Sergei Kapkov a member of the Union of Cinematographers of the Russian Federation, mover and art director of the National Animation Award “Icarus”, prize winner of the Guild of Film Critics “The Elephant” and international film festivals;

Vera Sokolova is a member of the Union of Cinematographers, producer, director, a CEO of the cinema studio “Gorizont Kino” (“Cinema Horizon”);

Elena Alfyorova is a director of documentary films and TV programs;

Masha Tereschenko is a journalist, animation programs coordinator, screenwriter and creative producer.

Now it's necessary to form the final shortlist of the competitive and non-competitive programs. From May 19 to May 23 these films will be presented to the audience on big screens in following cities and towns: Krasnoyarsk, Divnogorsk, Norilsk, Aban and Uzhur. There will be special screenings of “Echo of the Festival” after the completion of the main program. You will be able to watch selected films at cinemas and town halls in the Krasnoyarsk region from May 24 to June 30, 2022.

II International Film Festival for Children and Youth “Hero” is the only one professional international competition for children and youth in Russia from Eastern Siberia to Sakhalin. The founder is the Ministry of Culture of the Krasnoyarsk region, the organizer is Krasnoyarsk State Autonomous Cultural Organization Enisey Kino. The festival takes place once in two years in the Krasnoyarsk region. The President of the festival is Vladimir Grammatikov, Honored Artist of Russia, film director, screenwriter, Disney Company creative producer.
